M Squared has been MIA for the past few months, and buried in the studio recording our next album, Under the Balloon. "Under the Balloon" is a true "fusion" album, an eclectic mix of collaborative writing. Each member's influence is evident throughout the album, from "celtic jazz", compositional drum solos, and multiple textured layers including vocal sound effects. We are thrilled to report that the recording is complete, and the songs have been sent off to BaCKhead Studios (thanks Chris Liepe!) for final mixing, mastering, and then off for production. We're planning for a full release in June. Be watching for it! :)
Our summer calendar is very quickly filling up! We will be playing several Colorado summer festivals this year as well as our normal gigging, including Prospect Bites & Music, the Lyons Arts Festival, Windsor Concert Series, Streetmosphere in Fort Collins, People's Fair in Denver, and once again, the Telluride Jazz Festival! Be sure to come out and say hi, and grab our new album. :-)
